About

I am a professional psychotherapist with a focus on trauma reprocessing through the use of EMDR. In addition to my clinical work, I provide education and consultation services to clinicians seeking EMDRIA certification. My approach to mental health and wellbeing is grounded in a biopsychosocial perspective, and I believe in utilizing a mind and body approach to support my clients in achieving their therapeutic goals. I am a certified EMDR therapist and a Consultant in Training with EMDRIA working with EMDRIA Approved Consultant Thomas Zimmerman.

My Story

I am married and mother of 2 children. I live on a ranch in Northern California with my donkeys, horses, cat and dog. My journey to becoming a therapist spawned from being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12. I struggled to cope with this new life changing condition, puberty and family transitions. I saw my first therapist in high school. She gave me so much hope; something I did not have at the time. My relationship with her led me to pursue my Bachelors in Psychology with a Minor in Family Relations and then my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Over the years I have worked in psychiatric outpatient centers, home and school based programs, and in the primary care setting supporting physical and mental wellbeing. I've been in private practice since 2021. My approach to wellbeing in rooted in the mind and body connection. I follow the adaptive information processing (AIP) theory rooted in EMDR. My practice primarily focuses on this approach incorporating somatic integration and Parts work.
